How to craft#
E / I opens the weathered scrapbook, showing available backpack rows above the hotbar; unavailable rows are visibly faded. Four right-side tabs select Inventory, Crafting, Journal and Map.
Left-click a recipe to make one batch instantly. There is no queue, crafting duration or crafting energy cost.
Full-color recipe icons with a check indicate sufficient carried materials; faded icons with a minus indicate shortages.
Held cursor items are excluded; put them away before crafting.
Recipes#
| Makes | Ingredients | Category |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Fence | 10 Wood | Farm |
| 1 Wooden chest | 50 Wood | Home |
Wooden chests provide 36 persistent storage slots and a separate illustrated transfer screen. See Storage for placement, interaction and save rules.
Cooking recipes are documented separately; cooking is not yet available.
Placing fences#
Equip the crafted item on the hotbar, then click nearby clear farm ground or use Space in the facing direction. A translucent native fence preview and target corners indicate whether placement is allowed. Placement is instant and costs one Fence, with no energy charge.
Fences occupy one 24-pixel farm cell, block movement and connect visually to cardinal neighbors.
Placement is farm-only, within normal reach, and disabled during menus, travel, sleep and active tool actions.
Removing fences#
One successful axe hit recovers a Fence as a normal persistent ground pickup, using the existing axe energy cost and contact timing.
The pickup is never lost to a full inventory. Fences do not decay, reproduce with daily clutter, or have a selling price.
Gates, other fence materials, zombie behavior, bulk crafting, crafting stations, recipe discovery and controller navigation are deferred.
